Texas Background Investigators provides professional, pre-employment background investigations for public safety applicants. All of our investigations are unbiased, TCOLE compliant, and conducted by active or retired Texas peace officers with a private investigator license from Texas DPS. Our set fee for routine background investigations makes it easy for administrators to control costs and stay within their allocated budget.
Dennis is a retired police Commander with 25 years of service at the Richardson Police Department. He is a proud graduate of the Law Enforcement Institute of Texas and the Institute For Law Enforcement Administration's Command College. After retiring from law enforcement, Dennis continued to serve the citizens of Richardson by being elected to the City Council, representing Place 7. Dennis has owned and operated several successful family businesses. He has personally conducted over 400 public safety applicant backgrounds. He currently serves as the Managing Member for Texas Background Investigators.
Greg is an experienced law enforcement veteran and administrator that proudly served agencies in the North Texas area for many years. He retired from the Denton County Water District Police Department as Chief of Police after serving almost 30 years in Richardson, Little Elm, Corinth, and the Denton County Water District Police Department (a department that he worked to create and build as a new, start-up police agency). Greg is also a consultant and currently serves as general manager for several water districts in the Denton and Collin County area, where he oversees their day-to-day operations. He has executive level knowledge and expertise in not only police department operations, but overall municipal and county government operations. He previously served as a director of operations for a security company in Texas and Arizona as well. He is a graduate of Mountain State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership. He is also a graduate of the 243rd session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Using Texas Background Investigators to do our applicant backgrounds has been among the best decisions I have ever made. In the past, we used on-duty sworn personnel to conduct background checks. Investigators and/or supervisors were tasked to conduct background checks, and it became obvious how frustrated they would get because it took a great deal of time away from their day-to-day job tasks. The turnaround to complete backgrounds took a long time and became frustrating because we needed to fill vacant positions as soon as possible, especially when we are short-staffed. Once we signed on to have Texas Background Investigators do our background checks, the turnaround was significantly expedited, along with a very thorough and complete report. Applicant background checks are now more efficient and without using valuable staff resources and at a minimal cost.
